How Much Does It Cost to Train Muay Thai in Phuket? 2026 Guide

How Much Does It Cost to Train Muay Thai in Phuket? 2026 Guide

Phuket is blessed with a lot of Muay Thai gyms. It probably has more per person than almost anywhere else in Thailand. That is great for choice, but it makes the question "how much does it cost?" hard to answer, because no two gyms offer the same thing.

Some gyms train fighters only. Some train everyone. Some offer accommodation, some do not. And the accommodation itself varies massively. Many smaller gyms that say they have accommodation are really renting out a basic room somewhere nearby.

So the honest answer is: it depends on what you want. Here is how to work it out.

The short answer

  • Basic fighter setup: if you are a fighter and you do not mind a single bed and a shared bathroom, there are plenty of options. Expect to pay around 20,000 to 30,000 THB a month for training and a room.
  • Well known gym, comfortable stay: at one of the better known gyms, such as Phuket King or AKA Thailand, you will spend a little more.
  • Your own room with comfort and extras: a private room with its own bathroom and air conditioning, in a nice environment, plus meals, privates and extras, usually comes to around 30,000 to 80,000 THB a month.

What changes the price

Before you compare gyms, be clear about what you are actually looking for.

Your room
- Do you mind basic, or do you want comfort?
- Do you want air conditioning?
- Do you want your own bathroom?
- Do you want meals included?

The gym
- Do you want a classic, old school Thai gym?
- Or something cleaner and more modern?

The extras
- Yoga?
- Grappling?
- A weights gym?
- A spa, sauna or ice bath?

Every one of these affects the final price.

Time of year

Season is another big variable. Phuket's high season runs from November to early April, with December and January the peak months. Prices are usually at their highest then.

After that comes what we call the green season, or rainy season. Prices are often cheaper, gyms are quieter, and it can be a great time to train. If you are on a budget, it is a great time to come.
