DTV questions and answers
What is the DTV visa?
The Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) lets you stay in Thailand for 5 years with multiple entries. Each visit allows a stay of up to 180 days. One way to get it is by enrolling on a course with an eligible Muay Thai gym, which is known as the soft power or Muay Thai route.
Is Phuket King eligible?
Yes. Phuket King Muay Thai is recognised by the Sports Authority of Thailand with a 5 star rating and is fully eligible to support your DTV application.
Do you charge for the paperwork?
No. We provide all the gym paperwork and an official invitation letter with any DTV course, at no extra charge. There is no separate paperwork fee.
How do I get my paperwork?
Once you have bought your course, email or WhatsApp us asking for your paperwork. Tell us which embassy you will apply through and send your passport details. We prepare everything and send it to you within 1 working day, and guide you through the process.
Where do I apply?
The rules now require you to apply in your country of residence, so you need to get the DTV before you leave home. Most Thai embassies use an online application, but it must be submitted from outside Thailand. Check the exact paperwork your embassy asks for before you apply.
Do I need a police check?
Most embassies now ask for a valid police check with your application. Check the exact requirement for your country.
How much money do I need to show?
At least 500,000 THB, in any currency. You can show this with bank statements, payslips or a sponsorship letter.
How long does it take?
Processing time depends on the embassy. Between 3 and 14 days is usual.
What is the difference between Lite and Unlimited?
Lite courses include one group class per calendar week, and do not include open gym, the Fitness Zone or the weights area. Unlimited courses include every group class and the Fitness Zone. If your DTV is approved on a Lite course, you can upgrade to Unlimited by paying the difference.
Is my course refundable if my DTV application is rejected?
Phuket King sells genuine Muay Thai courses. We do not sell visas or paperwork. After you enrol, we provide the supporting documents that confirm your course at no extra charge. You make your own DTV application, and the final decision rests entirely with the Thai embassy or consulate. Once your course is registered and the documents have been issued, the course is non-refundable.
We cannot track how documents are used once they leave us, and an applicant may reapply later, use another embassy, or attend the course on a future visit. We have also been advised that selling paperwork, or making refunds depend on a visa decision, can look as if the paperwork is the real product, and that providers working this way may face extra checks that could affect applications connected to them. Keeping the course and the visa clearly separate protects the credibility of Phuket King and of the documents supporting your application.
How can I reduce my risk?
Start with the 6 Month Lite course, one group class a week, for a smaller first payment. If your DTV is approved, upgrade to the 6 Month Unlimited course by paying the difference. If your application is rejected after buying an Unlimited course, we can let you use the course across up to three separate visits, subject to our course and booking conditions.
Can you guarantee my visa?
No. The visa is awarded at the discretion of each embassy. What we guarantee is a genuine course, authentic supporting documents, no separate paperwork fee, and an honest, transparent process. We support you every step of the way.
Can I stay at the gym while I train?
Yes. Pangea Resort has lakeside bungalows one minute from the gym, for short and long stays, with special 6 month DTV packages. Message us for details.
